Prevent Damage to Your Floors with Rubber Dumbbells
Damage to your floors is one of the drawbacks when you’re working out with dumbbells. To prevent this, you can always invest in an exercise floor mat to prevent the dumbbells from denting or scratching your floors, or switch to rubber dumbbells. These dumbbell weights are coated with rubber, so if it happens to drop onto the floor, the rubber will absorb all of the impact.
Rubber coated dumbbells also lowers any risks of injury while you’re lifting weights. If, for whatever reason, the dumbbell comes in contact with you (i.e. you drop the weight on your foot), since the rubber is absorbing some of the impact your foot will not take as much damage compared to a regular dumbbell where it doesn’t have a rubber coating.
Another added benefit of rubber coated dumbbells is since the metal portion of the dumbbell is encased in rubber, they will not rust. Oxygen is required for the dumbbells to rust, and the rubber prevents any oxygen from coming in contact with the metal weights. This is a common problem from traditional fixed weight dumbbells.
