One-Arm Dumbell Workouts
When you think of dumbell workouts for your chest and shoulders, you’d imagine using a PAIR of dumbells for whatever exercises you’re doing. Dumbbell presses and dumbell shoulder presses are usually done with two dumbbells. However, if you used only one during your dumbell workout, you’ll find that these exercises are more difficult, and will stimulate your muscles into new heights of strength.
For the one-arm dumbell shoulder press, you would need to hold yourself in an upright position. One side of your oblique will have to contract harder in order to hold you up during the workout. A strong core will be one of the benefits of this exercise.
Exercising with one dumbell during the bench press require you to keep yourself balanced on the bench. Even with a light dumbell you may fall over, so you’ll need to support yourself with your opposite hand during this exercise by grasping onto the weight bench.
