Olympic Dumbbells
Olympic dumbbells are adjustable dumbbell sets that utilize Olympic weight plates. They work by placing Olympic plates at both ends of the dumbbell handle, and they are attached with a collar. The dumbbell handle is a fixed length, so depending on the length of the handle, they may be cumbersome to work with.
Since these dumbbells use Olympic weights, you can place 45lbs weight places, however, since those plates are very large, it will be difficult, if not impossible to properly work with them. Using larger Olympic weights on these dumbbells will cause them to collide into your body. For comfort purposes, 25lbs Olympic plates can work, but 10lbs plates (or less) work best.
The time it takes to change the weight on these dumbbells are greater than its’ quick change counterpart, such as the Power block dumbbells. The Olympic adjustable dumbbells require sliding on and off the plates, and then attaching the collars, compared to the powerblock dumbbells, which only requires a change of a pin.
