Home Dumbbell Training Routines
Well planned home dumbbell training routines are necessary for long term improvement while exercising with weights. An exercise routine should be directed to reach a specific goal, contain the necessary dumbbell exercises to reach the goal, and allow room for improvement once your body adapts to your training routine.
Specific Training Goals
The number of reps, sets, and weight while working out with the dumbbells will be determined by your goals. For example, if your goal is to build strength, then the number of reps will be low, the number of sets will be high, and the weight of the dumbbell will be high as well. Keep your goals in mind when designing a training routine for yourself.
Exercises using Dumbbells
The types of exercises you will select are goal dependant as well. For someone who wants to build strength, compound exercises such as the dumbbell bench press would be suitable.
Room for Improvement
Once you have determined the number of reps, sets and weight you will use, over time your body will adapt to the stress you impose on your muscles and your muscles will grow stronger. At this point, to avoid stagnation, you would have to increase the weight, number of reps, adjust the number of sets or change the exercise of your dumbbell workouts. Change and variety is the key for continual success when working out.
