Dumbell Workout Guidelines
A dumbell workout is among the most effective means of resistance training. Working out with dumbells forces your body to stabilize the weight, provide a greater range of motion than exercise machines, and their versatility allows you to perform hundreds of different exercises.
Here are some general guidelines for dumbell exercise workouts:
Warm-up!
Before lifting weights, especially heavy dumbbells, perform some light aerobic activity for 5-10 minutes to get the blood flowing through your body. After this, you can perform the dumbell exercise with light weights before increasing the load.
Get A Spotter
When you’re exericsing with dumbells, there’s always a risk of losing control of the weight, especially during a heavy set. Get a workout partner to spot you during heavy exercise.
Emphasize Perfect Form When You’re Working Out with Dumbells
It’s easy to let your ego take over and start working out with the heaviest dumbell weight you can lift. Remember that working out with weights is about getting results, and if you’re using a heavy weight but performing the exercise with sloppy form, it can take you longer to see any results, and you’ll be risking injury to yourself.
