Dumbbell Rowing Exercise
Working out with dumbbells is one of the best methods to develop your back muscles. Dumbbell rowing exercise including the one arm rows and the bent over dumbbell rows can allow you to build a wide, thick back.
One Arm Row
Requirements: one dumbbell and a weight bench.
Execution:
• First, place the dumbbell beside the bench.
• With one knee on the bench, place your hand on the same side of your knee on the bench to support your upper body during the row.
• Grasp the dumbbell with your hand with your palms facing in
• With your back straight, row the dumbbell as high as possible (make sure that your arm travels close to your body during the row)
• Lower the dumbbell slowly, and repeat
Bent Over Dumbbell Row
Requirements: two dumbbells
Execution:
• Stand with your feet shoulder width apart or wider
• Grasp the dumbbells with your hands with the palms facing either up or down
• Bend your upper body so that it is at a 45 degree angle to the ground
• Lock yourself in this position, and row both dumbbells toward your stomach. Keep your elbows tight while rowing if you have your palms facing up; keep your elbows wide if you have your palms facing down.
• Be sure to keep your back straight during this exercise!
• Lower the dumbbells slowly, and repeat the rowing process
