Dumbbell Deltoid Workouts
Dumbbells are the best exercise equipment to develop the shoulder muscles. Dumbbell deltoid workouts with the right number of sets, reps, and weight can make you look like you’re wearing shoulder pads underneath a t-shirt. The build mass on your shoulders, the rule of thumb is to use heavy dumbbells, perform a moderate amount of sets and anywhere from 6-12 repetitions (all with proper form, of course). Here are some dumbbell exercises that target the various sections of the deltoid muscles:
Anterior (front) Deltoid Exercises
• Shoulder press
• Front raises
Posterior (back) Deltoid Exercises
• Bent over lateral raises
Middle Deltoid Exercises
• Shoulder press
• Side lateral raises
• Upright rows
Another way to build strength in the shoulder is to perform external rotator cuff exercises. This can be done with a light dumbbell, and performing an external rotation with your arms while lying on your side.
